Artist Identity — YAKO

Approach:

Insight finding: went on 3 tours with YAKO to get a sense of what he wants to be and what fans love about him. To demonstrate YAKO’s passion and his dedication to music, the identity is built on YAKO’s house style and especially inspired by his tattoos (2 circles) that he’s deeply attached to as it represents the DJ controller and beat. The result: Created an electric moving logo-mark that incorporated YAKO’s tattoo in the O and a beat dropped on the A — Amplifier: an electronic device that can increase the power of a signal. Using the “O” — what YAKO believes in and the “A” — what fans love about his music as a signifier for his brand identity.
